Do you want a career as a professional makeup artist? This course has been designed for anyone who wants career as a professional makeup artist. The Master Program covers all areas of makeup and will open you up to the most job opportunities available to you as an artist.

What will I learn?

The program will teach you how to become a freelance artist. There will be x3 portfolio shoots throughout the program to help you to develop your business and client base. In depth demos from all of your educators for each part of the syllabus. All equipment, products and handouts are provided throughout the program. You will learn how to set up your business as a freelance makeup artist and how to master social media with your new career.

CLASS 1

Skin Analysis – Uncovering skin tones, skin textures, and best finishes in products to compliment client’s skin tone and select best color for foundation matching. (Hygiene)
Concealing – Discuss color theory to achieve appropriate shades for client. Emphasis on placement for highlight and correct features.

CLASS 2

Bridal Look – Learn how to create a glamorous bridal look that will last the test of time in photos. Bridal skin, eye techniques, lash application, brows, highlight and contour. (Hygiene)
MUA Best Practices – Learn the foundation of a bridal contract and discuss best practices to set yourself up for success.

Smokey Eyes – Learn how to create a smoky sultry eye that maximizes eye shapes.

CLASS 4

Retro Pin Up Style – Learn how to master winged eyeliner and a perfect bold lip by understanding eye shapes and lip shapes. (Hygiene).

Editorial/Photoshoot Makeup -Discuss the creative process of editorial makeup and what it’s like behind the scenes on a photoshoot. Discuss on location details that help make the shoot run smoothly. (Hygiene)Kit Building

Extreme High Glam -Discover how to create vibrant multiple cut crease looks that are trending on social media.

CLASS 10

Halo Eyes – Expand on the Extreme High Glam, and learn how to create depth and a rounder eye with the Halo Eye Technique by learning how to build depth and dimension from the outside, in.

CLASS 11

Indian Bridal Makeup – Learn cultural makeup and preferences for vibrant ceremonial looks that create a hypnotizing effect on the eyes.

CLASS 12

Global Trends – Understand the makeup trends globally and learn their beauty technique. This years trend is inspired by Brazilian Style Makeup Artistry with extremely glamorous neutral looks that enhance and maximize features to its fullest potential.

CLASS 13

Runway – Get ready for high fashion photoshoots and runway for a magazine or catwalk by learning how to do runway skin, and ideate storytelling and conceptual style of makeup as a key artist or fashion week artist.

CLASS 14

Mature Skin – Learn to enhance the beauty of mature clientele for any beauty job. Understand the best techniques for skin and the types of makeup to have in your kit. Learn the appropriate textures to flatter their features and where to place focus.

CLASS 15

Learning the art of SFX introduction – Product knowledge, tools and products, health and safety, sanitation and hygiene, case study

CLASS 16

Working with Latex – Creating bruises, 3rd degree cuts, bullet wounds, cuts with blood, road kill, burns, sunburn.

CLASS 17

Aging – Skin wrinkles, face aging skin, neck and hands. Making your skin look younger, hair aging, aging eyes. Bald capping.

CLASS 18

Prosthetics – Prosthetic application, adhesive materials, yellow peeling blisters, working with beards, teeth,

CLASS 19

Creating a character – Creating a zombie character with paints, sponges and latex

CLASS 20

Working with story lines – Learning about what is expected of you in a film and onset. You will be asked to create a look with everything you have learnt over your course based on the script we will provide.

Graphic Liners
Creating editorial graphic liner shapes on the eyes.

CLASS 22

STORY BOARD TELLING
Understanding how to work with moodboards on fashion/editorial shows.

CLASS 23

Business Mastery
You will learn how to set up your own business as an artist. Covering contracts, websites, book keeping, social media and portfolio work.

CLASS 24

Student Portfolio Shoot
Working with the photographer to create pictures of all of your work. Final exam.

All classes cover hygienic practices for safe and sanitary application on clients.

Portfolio Shoot

PORTFOLIO PHOTOSHOOTS

All students receive an exciting opportunity to have a Portfolio Shoot on all of our programs. You will learn how to work behind the scenes as a makeup artist with one of our inhouse photographers. You will be creating a set of professional photos of your finished makeup looks putting your skills to use from everything you have learnt on the programs. You can use the photos to show new and up and coming clients for your social media/ website etc. Having a portfolio of images will increase your chances of getting booked as a makeup artist.
